EK004 Time Delay Relay
Part.no: 41016257

EK004 is a time delay relay with multiple functions. When the control input (IN) is pulled low or the circuit is powered on, the relay switches its contact and holds it for a preset duration. The kit can be used to delay the activation of a device or to start a device for a defined time from a short pulse, for example from a push button or sensor.
The delay time is set using the potentiometer on the board. When the time has elapsed, the relay switches back and a new delay cycle can be started.
Since the relay has a changeover contact, it can be used for both delayed activation and delayed deactivation depending on whether the NC/COM or NO/COM terminals are used.
A delay cycle is initiated at each power-up, providing a delay-on function. To prevent an initial delay, the control input can be connected to V+ via a capacitor.
The delay time is adjustable from approximately 120ms to 12s. For longer delays, capacitor C4 and or resistor R2 can be replaced with components of higher capacitance or resistance.

Assembly guide
Before starting assembly, check that the PCB is free from damage and scratches. Verify that all components to be assembled are present, compare with the component list.
It is usually easiest to start assembling the lowest profile components and work upwards in size. IC sockets, resistors, ceramic capacitors and diodes are mounted first. Electrolytic capacitors, connectors and potentiometers are mounted last.
For some components, correct orientation is important. Pay attention to the markings on the PCB.
